The Tea & Coffee Sleeve works on a Tea Traveler Tumbler or any
16 oz. or larger hot cup (Sheetz, etc.).  To use on a 12 oz. cup, crochet 4 rounds instead of 8.

This pattern uses  The Herringbone Half Double Crochet (HHDC).  This stitch creates a fun textured pattern.  The tilt of this stitch creates the distinctive Herringbone arrow-shape on the surface of the fabric. Directions on how to crochet this stitch are in the NOTES below.


Skill :     Easy
Size:      4.25” wide x 3” tall
Gauge:  15 HHDC = 4.25”
Hook:    H/5 (or size needed to obtain gauge)
Yarn:    Approximately 0.45 oz. Red Heart Soft (Wine) or your favorite #4 yarn


CH:         Chain
HHDC:  Herringbone Half Double Crochet
RND:     Round
SM:        Stitch Marker
SS:         Slip Stitch
ST:         Stitch/Stitches

  •  HHDC: Yarn over. Insert hook into next stitch. Yarn over and draw through the stitch & first loop on hook.  Yarn over, draw through remaining loops on hook.
  •  CH 1 at the beginning of Round 1 does not count as a stitch.
  •  Rounds are not joined. They are crocheted in seamless rounds. Mark the first stitch of each round with a stitch marker.

CH 30. Without twisting CH, join together with a SS.

RND 1: CH 1.  HHDC in same ST as join & in each CH around. (30)

RND 2: Place SM in first ST of RND. 1 HHDC in each ST.  (30)
RND 3 – 8: (Or until sleeve is 3” tall) – Repeat RND 2. (30)

At end of RND 8, SS in the next 2 ST.

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Sew on button of choice.
